We like strange places. While in Bombay, wandering through Dharavi, Asia's largest slum, we found some men who make dye for a living. Hanging out with some dye-makers, under a sewage pipe, seemed like a good place to shoot this experimental short documentary.

We were honored when our favorite violinist, and Frenchman, Scott Tixier announced he was not only making his first solo jazz-album, but wanted us to make the film for it.

The result is this behind the scenes featurette, exploring his creative process, and the making of his incredible album Brooklyn Bazaar, available this March on jazz label Sunnyside Records.

Dear Reader,

In the Dark Ages of online video (2007-2008) I wrote/produced/shot/edited Black20 News for now-defunct Black20.com. Hosted by comedienne Jessie Cantrell, B20 News was - according to many scholars* - groundbreaking in its ability to not be terrible. This episode was our version of a "60 Minutes"-style examination of a pressing and complicated cultural issue....use of the word "hipster".

Sincerely,
Sam Winter

Beloved, evuncular-seeming NYTimes street style photographer Bill Cunningham declared "I saw what I bet was the first reality fashion show of the 21st century at New York's first Tweed Run".

We were called upon to provide video's answer to the street style photo essay. Much credit to Rugby Ralph Lauren for always pulling together such good looking crowds.

Alexa Chung = on-camera talent at its most effortless. Why doesn't she have, like, four TV shows going? By simply showing up she's smarter and funnier than 99% of the hair 'n teeth out there trying to be likable.

Steven Rojas for Rugby Ralph Lauren's Tweed Run New York
Steven Rojas is the director of social media for stately hotels Soho Grand and Tribeca Grand. He's also the living embodiment of a packed NYC social calendar. RL Rugby encouraged us to bro down (tastefully) in support of Tweed Run, a vintage bike ride through NYC celebrating simpler times.
